At Hanwell Wine Estate we offer an idyllic setting for your wedding day. Tucked away in the beautiful Nottinghamshire & Leicestershire countryside, set in 35 acres of vineyard, woodland & lake.
Hanwell Wine Estate is a second generation family run vineyard in South Nottinghamshire owned by Helenka. Helenka chose to follow in the family footsteps and plant Hanwell Wine Estate, this time Planted in May 2012 with the champagne varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier the first grapes were harvested in October 2015 with the help of neighbours, friends, family and volunteers.
The estate’s 8000 vines are carefully hand-tended by local employees and volunteers, rather than shipped-in contractors. This allows the grapes to be harvested at exactly the right moment. If you’d like to get involved see Jobs and Volunteering.
Hanwell grows grapes to make Nottinghamshire quality sparkling wine using the traditional champagne method. Each vintage is harvested by hand, then travels 15 minutes to Eglantine’s winery to be made into wine. Award-winning winemaker Tony Skuriat, then makes English Sparkling Wine using the traditional also known as classic method, this process takes 3 years.
