Venues in Grange-over-Sands

A Morecambe Bay sunset in Cumbria is a beautiful view, but when a bride and groom is in the foreground, it’s picture perfect. Grange-over-Sands is part of the county of Lancashire, 12 miles from Kendal and 25 miles from Barrow-in-Furness.

Grange-over-Sands developed in the Victorian era for the most part from a small fishing village. It’s a very popular seaside resort with a former lido on the seafront, the river Kent flowing past the town’s mile-long promenade and grass meadows filled with a flock of sheep. This was developed from sands and mudflats that featured dangerous quicksands once upon a time.

For wedding venues, Grange-over-Sands has rustic barns, riverside hotels, romantic watermills and acres of estates for panoramic wedding photos. Of course, you have Morecambe Bay in the background too. If you’re considering a coastal wedding, this is certainly an enviable location just below the Lake District.
